Week Two: Systems & Workflows

Building on our foundation, Week Two focuses on mastering key systems and establishing efficient workflows. We’ll explore advanced features and introduce crucial chemical distribution basics for day-to-day success.

Week Two Overview

With core optimizations underway, this week we’ll deepen our practice of batching tasks while also introducing hazmat and chemical distribution essentials. Each day includes two extended working sessions so we can keep refining our processes in real time and address the “little gotchas” we uncovered in Week One.

  1. Advanced System Mastery: Dive deeper into NetSuite, Front, Motion, and Notion—learning more efficient workflows, custom searches, and field usage clarity.
  2. Chemical Distribution 101: Explore fundamentals of handling and shipping chemicals (hazmat vs. non-hazmat), labeling, and safety best practices—all in a practical, non-technical way.

We’ll continue to emphasize batching in our day-to-day tasks—fixing customer part numbers, updating price model data, clarifying which fields matter and when, and ensuring your end-of-day checklist in Notion keeps everything organized.

Week Two Agenda

Day 1: Refresher & Chemical Basics

We’ll kick off Week Two by reinforcing key principles from Week One—like batching and “owner mindset”—while starting our chemical distribution journey. Expect two extended work sessions to handle real data fixes and an employee-led training on fundamental chemical safety.

9:30 AM – 9:45 AM

Overlaying Principles on Real Business Problems

  • Applying “Owner Mindset” to data accuracy (fields that matter)
  • Real feedback: confusion around NetSuite field usage

2. Heads-Down Work (Part 1)

9:45 AM – 11:15 AM

Closing Data Gaps

  • Fixing customer part numbers & price models
  • Ensuring correct fields are populated (lead source, freight terms)
  • Leadership roaming: quick solutions to discovered “bugs”
  • Live updates to Notion SOPs where relevant

3. Chemical Distribution 101

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Employee-Led Session:

  • Basics: hazmat vs. non-hazmat, shipping classifications
  • Labeling & SDS overviews (practical, not too technical)
  • “Real talk” Q&A: tips from seasoned employees
  • How does this relate to your daily tasks?

4. Heads-Down Work (Part 2)

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM

Reinforcing Good Habits

  • Batch processing quotes/orders with new chemical insights
  • Double-checking hazmat fields & doc uploads
  • Updating Notion “field usage” pages with any clarifications
  • Leadership “on the floor” for real-time feedback

5. Wrap-Up & Q&A

3:00 PM – 3:30 PM
